Who do I call if there is a problem with the installation?

If for some reason you have a question or problem with the Installation, please call the Installation Professional that completed the work. If this is not possible or not comfortable for you, please feel free to call SafeKey Dealer Network at 1-800-950-9869. However please bear in mind that the Installer that completed your service is much more familiar with your installation than we are, so your first inquiry should be to them.

 

What is included in the Installation?

Installation will include mounting the system components in your desired location and wiring to the vehicle electrical system. Additional parts and/or labor are extra and paid directly to the Installing professional. See www.SafeKey.InstallCard.com and click on description.

 

How does SafeKey qualify the Installer?

Each authorized SafeKey Installer professional undergoes a complete and thorough application process. All Installers must have at least two years installation experience and either is or soon to be MECP (Mobile Electronics Certification Process) certified. In addition, all of our Installers and Installation locations are required to maintain proper liability and/or garage keepers insurance.

 

Why can’t I install this myself?

You can always try to handle the Installation yourself, however do you want to? Do you have the time to spend on this project? Do you have the specific tools needed for proper Installation? Most importantly, do you have the knowledge of today’s newer vehicles and the product to be installed?

 

What is the warranty on the installation?

All of the in-vehicle Installations that are managed by our Installation network carry a “nationwide” limited lifetime warranty. This warranty covers the labor portion of the Installation, however does not apply to the product installed. The warranty of the product is covered by the manufacturer of the product.

 

Is the Installer Insured?

Yes, all of our Installers and Installation locations are required to maintain proper liability and garage keepers' insurance. In addition, InstallerNet, the parent company of InstallerNet carries an umbrella liability insurance policy.

 

What if I can’t make my appointment?

Just like with any other appointment, please try to give the Installation professional as much notice as you possibly can. It is always best to call the installer after the appointment has been scheduled, so that you can ask these types of questions and they are prepared for your scheduled appointment.

 

Is this more expensive than going to the local Installer myself?

No, you actually save money by using the InstallCard, as the negotiated network pricing is usually less expensive than using the services of the single store Installer. Plus you have a choice on Installation locations that are near your home or office. However the most important reason is that you will be serviced by a certified Installation professional that is totally committed to your satisfaction.

 

Why don’t I go to the local Installer that is in my phone book?

By purchasing the InstallCard, you are purchasing “Prepaid” Installation services from one of our SafeKey dealer installers. You also save money by using the InstallCard, as the negotiated network pricing is usually less expensive than using the services of the single store Installer. However the most important reason is that you will be serviced by a certified Installation professional that is totally committed to your satisfaction.

 

Can I leave my vehicle, or do I need to wait for it?

Yes, in some cases this is accepted practice for the installer, however it is always best to call the installer after the appointment has been scheduled, so that you can ask any questions that you might have and they are prepared for your scheduled appointment.

 

How long will an Installation take?

The Installation time frame varies due to product location and/or vehicle type.  It is always best to ask the installer after the appointment has been scheduled, so that you (and they) are prepared for your scheduled appointment.

 

How soon can I request an appointment?

As soon as the InstallCard has been purchased, you can make scheduling arrangements. Please note that while you may request an appointment immediately, most installers will not be able to take customers immediately.  Also, additional time may be required for Saturday appointments as this is the Installers busiest time.

After InstallCard purchase and scheduling arrangements have been made, please take the product to be installed, along with your InstallCard (with proof of purchase) to the authorized installation professional (Vehicle Only). Do I need to call the Installer before the appointment?

Yes, it is always a good idea to call the authorized Installer in advance of the scheduled Installation appointment. This is a good way to verify that the product that was purchased is the correct and compatible product for your vehicle. It is always best to call the installer after the appointment has been scheduled, so that they are prepared for your scheduled appointment.

 

How do I know that my InstallCard is activated?

After you enter all the information online you will receive an e-mail confirming that we have you in the system. Please be accurate with your e-mail address. If you do not receive this e-mail, please call your SafeKey Installer at 1-800-950-9869.

 

What is the fastest way to get my Installer's name?

When you enter all your information at www.InstallCard.com this automatically puts you in the system for the next available Customer Service Representative to start working on your installation. If you can’t activate your InstallCard online please call 1-800-950-9869, please have your InstallCard number, receipt number, name, address, phone, product information, and vehicle or location information. We can’t start the process of contacting the installer unless we have all this information.

 

How quick will SafeKey get back to me with the name of my local installer?

Once you have activated your InstallCard, by entering all the information we need at www.SafeKey.InstallCard.com, we will call the local Installation facility. We are not a service that just hands out names. We actually call the installer and inform them of all the particulars of your installation. Sometimes our contact person is not readily available and most installation facilities are not open on weekends or holidays. So it can take up to 2-3 business days for our customer service reps to get back to you with the name of your local installer.

 

When will extra charges apply?

In most cases your InstallCard will completely cover the cost of installing your product. But in some cases there may be extra charges to be paid at the time of installation, directly to the installer. The two most common reasons installers require additional amounts are: 1. Additional parts required to securely and cosmetically install the product in your particular model of vehicle (example: install kit with harness etc.). OR 2. Sports, Luxury or exotic vehicles that have difficult dashboards requiring significantly more time to take apart or put back together. SafeKey can work with you and your installer to help you find out if such charges apply and to minimize them.
